JICARO Brandy and Liqueur

After the pulp is fermented and distilled, Jicaro brandy and liqueur have a dominating flavor of fresh, ripe (Jicaro)-fruit. (See our spectrum analysis.)

120,000 own trees are producing our raw material for 400,000 liters of 50 % vol. alcohol per year. To produce this quantity needs an extension of our processing plants.

The production of alcohol can be increased considerably by buying up and processing wild growing fruits. This vast raw material potential can be realized.

The jicaro alcohol of 50 % vol. can be supplied in bottles or in barrels, and transported in containers. Jicaro alcohol does not need seasoning.

Before shipping a container, some time is needed to extend our processing plants.

Actually, we have a small production for the local market, achieving a price of US-$ 5.70 for a half liter bottle of jicaro brandy of 50 % vol. alcohol.

JICARO Cookies

The cookies, made out of jicaro seed, mixed with honey or sugar or ginger, are an example, how the seed can be eaten: As sports food, fast food, driver's food, snack between the meals, and as soy beans for persons, who are allergic to or incompatible with soy beans.

These cookies always taste of more and keep fresh during long time.

JICARO seed

The jicaro seed can be compared with soy beans and contains a lot of high quality protein and vegetable oil . Jicaro seed is produced out of the jicaro fruits of the jicaro tree (Crescentia alata). Jicaro seed is a food of high nutritive value, full of oil and protein, comparable with soy beans, and digestible for babies from 7 days of age.

Jicaro seed is a basic food for sportsmen, campers, drivers, underfed children, pregnant women, and for persons, who are allergic to or incompatible with soy beans.

In the contrary to soy beans, Jicaro seed does not contain residues of insecticides and will never contain residues of any chemicals, because the seed is well protected by the shell of the fruit. It is one of the few foods of high nutritive value, which will never contain residues of chemicals.

This is a great advantage for the future.

Jicaro will produce an organic food of high nutritive value together with traditional cultivated plants on the same ground: Jicaro fruits on the second floor and other cultivations on the first floor.

Jicaro seed contains about 33 % of oil. 97.4 % of this oil is digestible for human beings. This oil contains these fatty acids (Source: INCAP, Guatemala).

The high percentage of 76.4 % of unsaturated fatty acids will maintain a low level of colesterol in the blood of human beings.

See also the constant Factors of Jicaro Oil and the Comparison of the essential Amino-acids of Hen's Egg, Soy Bean and Jicaro.

After extracting the oil, the oil-cake (see analysis) contains about 52.2 % of protein. The protein of jicaro can be compared with the protein of soy beans and with the essential amino-acids of hen's eggs.

The oil-cake of the jicaro seed has a calorific value of 2,960 kcal/kg = 12,460 kJ/kg. It is not toxic and very tasty for all animals and human beings.

It can be baked and can replace partially wheat flour. The jicaro oil-cake can be compared with the oil-cake of soy beans. Thousands of recipes are available to prepare and eat the jicaro oil-cake: Bread, cookies, cakes, noodles, ice-cream, etc.

THE JICARO TREE (Crescentia alata)

The Jicaro fruits are growing directly at the trunk and the big branches of the Jicaro tree (Crescentia alata), which is wild in Nicaragua. Its tap root is five times longer than the visible tree. The productive life of the jicaro tree exceeds 100 years.

The tree and its fruit production neither need agro-chemicals nor protection against pests and parasites, because the fruit shell protects the seed and the pulp. The fruit produces seed, pulp and shells, used as firewood for the distillation.

The fruits can be harvested all the year round.
